Guatemala

Water For People has been in Guatemala since 1997. In the years following its first work, more than 100 water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives were implemented throughout the country.

Honduras

Water For People first began supporting water and sanitation efforts in Honduras in 1997. From 1997 to 2006, Water For People–Honduras worked with partner organizations in over 90 rural communities.

Nicaragua

In 2010, Water For People–Nicaragua received legal status as an NGO, and opened an office and hired a Country Director and staff. We continued to collaborate with El Porvenir while initiating our first water and sanitation programming in the municipalities of San Rafael del Norte and La Concordia in the department of Jinotega.

Currently Everyone Forever programming is taking place in two districts: Cascas, in the Region of La Libertad, and Asunción – a new district in the Region of Cajamarca selected in 2013.

Bolivia

Water For People began working in Bolivia in 1997. Since then, we've developed a strategic program to address water and sanitation needs in four rural municipalities: Cuchumuela, Villa Rivero, Tiraque in the department of Cochabamba, and San Pedro in the department of Santa Cruz.

Africa

Uganda

95 percent of people in urban areas and 71 percent in rural areas have access to safe water. But only 34 percent of the population in both urban and rural areas are using improved sanitation facilities. Despite significant water infrastructure, a lack of strong operation and maintenance mechanisms means many systems are broken and no longer meet government standards for access, quantity, and quality.

Malawi

Water For People has been working in Malawi since 2000. In 2006, it changed its strategy from small projects in widespread areas to concentrated efforts in three regions: peri-urban Blantyre and the rural districts of Chikhwawa and Rumphi.

India

In 2005, Water For People established a full-fledged country program with an office in Kolkata, and by the end of 2010, had programming in several districts in West Bengal. In 2012, Water For People expanded work to Sheohar, Bihar, and this year plans to start work in Rajasthan. Water For People has also opened an office in Delhi.

Why Don't We Fix Our Site for X Browser?

Essentially, Water For People is a non-profit and we would rather spend money on our causes instead of the very significant amount of money that it would cost us to design and maintain a website that works for legacy, unsupported browsers.
